What is Tumblr?

Tumblr, for those who haven't heard of this infamous site, is a microblogging site that allows users to share art and lierature (despite the amazing possibilities, most users choose to master the art of shitposting). Tumblr allows users to post their own content and like and reblog other users' content. Perhaps the closest comparison to Tumblr is in fact twitter. Twitter, like Tumblr, allows users to like and retweet posts but unlike Twitter, Tumblr does not have a set amount of characters which is why it is so popular among fanfiction writers. Like many other social media, you can also follow users whose content you like and if you must, you can also block users. The more I think of it, the more tumblr sounds like twitter.

Here's where the infamous part comes in. Tumblr is widely known as a "safe space" for feminazis. This is not true. As a person who has spent heaps of time on Tumblr, I can safely say that that is an exaggeration. Unfortuanately for some republicans, Tumblr is definitely more feminist than twitter but, it is safe to say, that Tumblr more about the fandom than feminism. Fandom is basically fandomspeak for "fanbase", usually of books (cough cough harry potter), television shows (*stares at the superwholock fans*), omics and movies (I hate to break it to you but stucky ain't ever gonna happen). But of course, what will happen when feminism and fandoms mix? Wooh, um... Flame Wars, duh. Like your parents hopefully told ypu, don't play with fire. I repeat, do not get involved with flame wars because Tumblr is rather harsh on people with dissenting opinions. Also don't insult transpeople.
